Well it's been a few weeks running my LTD5 from the van with the new little giant heater, dam that thing gets the water HOT and it never runs out, keeps up fine
should have done this a long time ago
My carpet cleaning friend who has a TM gave me (for free) a vac hose reel he bought a long time ago but never used at all, it's been in his shed for over a year so i had to clean it up some
What a difference having that vac hose reel makes in my set up and break down time, now just gotta get a reel for my solution hose
to think i used to pull that portable on and off all the time, running extension cords no vac hose reel, not using auto fill and auto dump.
as compared to now, using auto fill and dump so no more bucket brigade, don't have to run extension cords, no more pulling portable on and off, having the little giant and now the vac hose reel
my set up and break down times are equivalent to actually having a real TM even though i don't
Happy with my current set up and will run this way all summer and fall, see where i'm at
then consider a TM for the start of next summer
But in reality, what advantage would it be, with the little giant heater i now have a TM will give me no advantage in heat
in the psi department yes TM's can go a lot higher then my 500 psi portable can but who cleans carpet at 1000 psi and above anyway
Ii'd say 350 to 500 psi is where most clean carpet at so no real advantage there either
I do have a water otter to use when i do tile and grout
In the suction department and for long hose runs is where a TM will win out
However portable's are closing that gap at least as far as an entry level TM goes
That new Mytee escape with the new LX motors appears to be pretty dam good
has a good balance of lift/CFM to get the job done up to around 150 foot out
I've been checking out the videos some have done using up to 250 foot of hose off of it
I am a little skeptical of 250 foot hose runs on it but most of my hose runs are 100 foot or less
occasionally i need a little more, but never over 150
And at 4grand brand new it is tempting, plus in the event you had to take it off due to an after hours commercial job that doesn't allow doors to be open to run hose in.
You could take it off fairly easy using a ramp (with a helper of course)
But i'll reconsider and cross that bridge when i get there
I also like the fact that in the event of a breakdown there is nothing that
i wouldn't be able to fix myself on a portable, (the new mytee escape)
That would not be the case if i had a TM, i'd have to take it somewhere, closest place is an hour away
not to mention the cost for some TM repairs
The cost of a new blower as compared to the cost of a new vac motor is not even close.
