Rotovac 360i Brush Head with Glides

I had the guys up there at Rotovac do some repairs on my 360i and when I was there I asked them about a 12" brush head with Teflon glides. They built one for me and now I have a few jobs under my belt with it.

I really like the extra agitation it provides on heavily soiled carpets. I also really liked how gentle the head is close to wood and tile transitions.

One thing I noticed that I wasn't super excited about... The brush bristles seemed to hinder the jet fan pattern on the outer edges of the head. In fact it I felt like the cleaning path actually became slightly narrower on heavily soiled carpets. I had to do closer overlap strokes than I used to have to do. It still cleaned really well though and am still happy with my purchase.

I decided to experiment with cutting a few rows of bristles around the jets. Kinda opening up the bristles so the fan pattern can still get closer to the edges

Update

I felt the spray pattern improved with the removal of those bristles, but it still wasn't quite what I was looking for. I cut a few more rows out today and will update again

Rotovac suggested this Carpet Brush Head for CGD. I'll be trying it out this Saturday,

Just curious as to how much agitation this head really provides. It would seem as thought the glides would limit the penetration into the carpet pile. I would like to order one but just want to make sure it will do what I am need it to do. Mainly for commercial carpet.

looks like your jets are pointing straight down or even angled in towards the center. I would try turning them just a little bit so they angle toward the outside of the head.

I still have a RV 360 that I bought going on 9 years ago with the tile and grout head. When rotovac came out with the carpet brush, I said hey, that sure looks a lot like that tile head that I don't use anymore. I removed the rubber squeegees and changed the spray jets to ones for carpet and converted it to a carpet brush. I think that they put stiffer brushes on the tile head now , so I would be cautious with a newer head. The brushes on mine are soft enough for residential cut pile. I like using it on stairs also, it agitates the nose of the stair very effectively, and there is less over spray because the tubes are shorter than the regular carpet head.

The Teflon CBH agitates like crazy. The teflon glides also keep you from damaging heat registers, edges of tile, etc. The half round glides actually sit lower in the carpet
