Reverse/Change the way you think of them. Change your approach.
You already know upfront how they operate so why stress yourself.
You most likely do not need the job, however Think of the job (not the client) as extra gas money, paid repair bill, new work shoes, paid cable bill, paid electric bill, paid heating bill, kids new sneakers, cell phone payment, etc.
Mix up a crazy bomb of a prespray, minimal furniture moving or none at all, extract and leave.
Maybe offer 5% discount if they pay by credit card? Just so payment can be processed faster?
Dealing with blowing off an appointment, the next time they call for service, pick your ballz from off the floor and tell them you need to add a cancellation fee ($50-$75?) For their 'no show'. Payment must be paid before rendering any further services. It's your time lost that could have been used making money somewhere else. They may or may not want to pay it. Who knows.
